I've met a lot of new explorers who are keenly interested in learning about the story of the Restoration, from the first public expedition to the present day. Whenever I tell parts of the tale in the cavern, it's always met with enthusiasm. So, if there's enough interest here, I'd like to make a proper event out of it.
I'm going to schedule a public town hall in the auditorium of the Unbound Heart's Bevin. Very soon: this Saturday or next, around 12.00 cavern time (2.00 EDT, 7.00 BST). This will be narrowly focused on the essentials of the Restoration: the basics of what a new explorer needs to know. We'll tell the story from start to finish, and then take questions from the audience. (I'm hoping this will be a good complement to the more in-depth courses in Dangerzone's Myst University.) I also have a UH volunteer to pass along questions from explorers who can't attend in person.
Once the details are finalized, I'll update this post, and of course announce it through the Guild of Messengers and the wonderful D'ni Voice.
Here's what I'm looking for first: experts. I wasn't around during Prologue, and even my memory of the 06-08 phase is naturally incomplete. I plan to use UO's Cavern Today archives and vid's magnificent recap as an outline, and I'll do as much research as I can. But are there two or three veterans out there who would like to participate? Either with a prepared passage, or just answering questions and filling in the gaps in each other's knowledge? I think this could be a really successful event, and I know many will be grateful.
If you're interested, please contact me by replying here, or by PM.
