The Restoration Realists are getting a lot of support and encouragement. Our philosophy of bringing about change through peaceful means and non-harassment of the DRC seems to be gaining ground.
This has already shown a result, in that Nick White has said it might be possible for him to attend the Town Hall meeting on 28 April, something the D'net has desired and been requesting for a very long time.
Explorers are not asked to 'join' a group or change hoods to show their support for our aims, but to add their names here. Each reply post (a will do!) will be counted as another explorer who believes in our aims to support the restoration of D'ni.
The RR do not believe that the DRC are perfect. There is a serious lack of communication from them, but practically the ony message they get from the community is one of impatience and distrust.
But let's be realistic. There is no viable alternative to the DRC. They have the experience, expertise, manpower and funding, none of which could be replaced without huge delays to the research and restoration of D'ni.
The RR desire to make the DRC aware that we support them in their endeavours and to encourage them to keep channels of communication open by building a new kind of relationship. _________________ KI# 1461811

I couldn't attend to the meeting in your hood, Jazz, but I share your point of view about the DRC and I support you. _________________ Morningstar - KI#1053460

Ms. Jazz--
I offer you my best wishes in this endeavor, but I must take issue with your statement that "There is no viable alternative to the DRC. They have the experience, expertise, manpower and funding, none of which could be replaced without huge delays to the research and restoration of D'ni."
What brings you such a degree of certainty to this proclamation? Are you not open to the possibility that others could manage this cavern equally well if not better? Are the DRC and Cate Alexander the penultimate in archeological restorations and cavern management? Granted that they have more familiarity with the cavern than most, except perhaps a great number of explorers, but is no one with greater capability able to develop the same level of knowledge?
And, again, you bring up the issue of delays. I get the impression that many explorers such as yourself are more concerned with having new things to look at or new activities to participate in that you are in having things done properly. Please correct me if I am wrong. I, on the other hand, am more concerned with doing things properly, uncovering the most and most accurate information about the D'ni culture and utilizing explorers in the effort. Giving them more activity by having them help with unearthing, translating, and restoring.
So, please don't jump to the conclusion that the DRC is the only organization capable of running this effort. I have made viable proposals for alternatives and am willing to listen to others' ideas on this matter as well.
Where your skepticism is directed toward anyone being able to replace the DRC, mine is directed toward your getting any useful information and help from them. Again, I wish you the greatest of luck. You will probably need it.

Thankyou, professor, for posting your opinion on the matter. Now to get back on topic...
I still agree with Jazz. She has been able to keep a cooler head than "others" in the cavern despite everything that's going on. I respect that. I guess it's the fact that I'm Canadian, but I prefer a peaceful (and realistic) approach to the situations in the cavern. |

I support RR.
Prof., ever try to think of joining the DRC and adding your expertise instead of undermining them? Sounds like you're burning bridges (or caverns) rather than building them. _________________ "Not to know what happened before you were born - this is forever to be a child." - Cicero |

I support the ideals of this group, it certainly seems to have good intentions and a level-headed founder. _________________ I'm not as think as you stupid I am. |

Prof. Oveson: Do not so hastily call for DRC to step down unless you have something better to replace them already lined up.
I am already a part of another group, The Great Tree. But I will support the ideals of the RR. If I take out aggression on anything, I promise it only be on barriers. _________________ Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I too am a Great Tree member. I think our ideals are much in line with what Jazz is putting together. _________________ Visit the D'ni Zoological Society at www.explorerslodge.org for the latest info on D'ni's plants and animals! |

Yes, it's because you're Canadian...
Anyway, I didn't realize Jazz posted this in so many forums! Continue to count me in, as I've already stated.
I know there's been a lot of tension and even some anger pointed toward the RR. All I can say is, for those who think that we're merely an anti-ADM or even worse, a vehicle for a fight over Nick, try talking to Jazz in the cavern sometime. Nothing could be farther from the case. |
